THE LEGACY LIVES ON!
"What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others." -Pericles
Dear Friends & Neighbors,
In light of the events of the past two months, Dad and I felt it was important to reach out to our LGI community. First and foremost, thank you for the overwhelming love and support you have shown us during this difficult time. It is no wonder why Mom loved this island so much! Losing Mom leaves an immeasurable void in our lives. She leaves an amazing legacy focused on love and service to others. She has certainly shown us the way.
In the fall of this year, Mom began to educate and transition me into her LGI real estate business. Her hope was that I could begin to assist her and Dad and she could "slow down a bit". Even though none of us ever believed she would actually slow down, I embraced her plan. Little did I know I would unexpectedly need to jump in head first a mere 5 months into the transition plan!
The past 60 days were filled with heartache for our family. We could not deny the inevitable, and we cherished every moment we had with her. Mom was very specific in her wishes, and we worked diligently to make sure we respected and carried through with all of them. It should not come as a surprise to anyone who knows her that she wanted to make sure her clients and her business were taken care of to her high standard of excellence. So Dad and I rolled up our sleeves and went to work. During the 53 days from Mom's diagnosis to her passing, Dad and I closed 3 condos, listed a condo and a vacant lot, and went into contract on a house Mom had listed. There were many times we choked back tears as we proceeded with "business as usual", but we found it therapeutic knowing she was proud and it gave her peace of mind!
For the foreseeable future, Dad and I have decided we will continue on this path. I am committed to assisting Dad to continue to work for Mom's clients alongside him. I am aware that I can never be my mom. Mom was truly unique and very special. She taught me you need not be special but, you must be honest, hard working, and willing to serve others. Our hope is you will continue to allow us to work for you to meet your island real estate needs.
